Publish did not do what you expected. Here is what each case means.
Publish offered me a subscription instead
Nothing is paying for your blog yet, and publishing puts a page on the public web. Your recipe was saved as a draft first, so nothing is lost — you can close the prompt and come back to it.
During your free trial, subscribing does not bring the first charge forward. Subscribe to Savorible
Nothing happened, but there is red text on the page
Publishing refused the recipe and told you where. Scroll through the canvas for the message — the usual causes are:
- No title, or a title under 3 characters.
- A short description under 10 characters.
- An empty ingredient line or an empty step. Fill it in or remove it with ✕.
- A web address with spaces, capitals or punctuation in it.
“You already have a recipe at that address”
Two recipes on the same blog cannot share a web address. Change this recipe’s address, or find the other recipe — it may be an abandoned draft you can delete.
“Your free trial has ended”
The blog is read-only, so nothing can be saved at all. Your work is still on the page, but do not keep writing before you fix this — it cannot be kept. What happens when the trial ends
It says published, but I cannot find it on my blog
- Use the View live link in the editor. It goes to the exact address the recipe now has, which rules out looking in the wrong place.
- Check the post list. Edit content → Edit posts → Published shows everything that is live. If it is not there, the publish did not go through.
- Check your blog’s visibility. The dashboard header shows Public, Unlisted or Private next to the blog name. A published recipe on a private blog is only visible to people with access; an unlisted blog is reachable by link but not listed for discovery. Blog settings
- Check your blog is online. If your billing page says Read-only or Cancelled, the whole blog is not being served, published recipes included.
A link to my recipe gives “not found”
Either the recipe is a draft — unpublishing makes its page unreachable — or its web address changed. Changing a published recipe’s address breaks the old URL with no redirect, so an old link will not find it. Edit a published recipe
Related recipes are not showing
A “More in …” block only appears when the tag has another published recipe on it. One recipe with a tag has nothing to relate to yet. How related recipes work
