Who can visit your blog

Choose whether your food blog is public, unlisted or private.

Settings holds the things that describe your food blog rather than any one recipe.

What is on the page

General is who can visit your blog, and whether search engines are invited to list it. Change visibility if you need to, then press Save changes.

Public, unlisted and private

  • Public — anyone can visit, and search engines may list your pages.
  • Unlisted — anyone with the URL can visit, but search engines are asked not to list it. Use this for a live blog you do not want found in search.
  • Private — only people with access to the blog can read it. Strangers see that it is private, not the recipes.

A new blog starts private. Making it public or unlisted needs a live subscription — choosing Unlisted or Public before you have subscribed opens a prompt that sends you to Billing. You can stay private, and you can always go back to private, without paying. Visibility is separate from publishing a recipe. A private blog can still have published recipes; they are just not shown to people without access. The dashboard header shows Public, Unlisted or Private next to your blog name. Publishing a draft on an unlisted or private blog reminds you of that visibility first.

What is not here

Your food blog name is on Settings. The tagline is on Profile. Author bio, the About page and social links are under Edit content. Your logo and accent colour are on Appearance. Your subscription is on Billing. Custom domains are not part of Savorible.
