A step photo sits with one instruction step and nowhere else. Use them where the words are doing badly: what the dough should look like after folding, how thin “thinly sliced” is.
Add a photo to a step
- Open the recipe in the editor and find the step.
- Press + Add image on that step.
- Choose Upload image to pick a file, or Add image URL to paste a link into the step’s Paste an image URL field.

Replace or remove one
Replace image swaps it. Remove image from step clears it. Removing a step removes its photo with it.
How many to use
Not every step needs one. A photo on every step makes a page slow to load and slow to cook from — pick the two or three steps where a reader could reasonably go wrong.
