Add and edit ingredients

Write one ingredient per line, reorder them, and split a long list into named sections like "For the sauce".

Ingredients are one line each, in the order a cook will use them. Savorible does not try to parse quantities out of them — write the line the way you would say it.

Add ingredients

  1. Type into the first ingredient line, for example 200g plain flour.
  2. Press Enter. A new line appears below and your cursor moves into it, so a whole list is one continuous piece of typing.
  3. Or press + Add ingredient at the end of the list.

Reorder and remove

Hover or tab onto a line and its controls appear: ↑ and ↓ move it, ✕ removes it. On a phone or tablet they stay visible. The first line’s ↑ is disabled rather than hidden, and the last remaining line cannot be removed.

Split a long list into sections

A recipe with a sauce and a base reads better in two blocks. Press + Add ingredient group and give the group a name such as For the sauce.

The name is optional. A group with no name shows its ingredients with no heading, which is what a simple recipe should do — leave the single default group unnamed rather than calling it “Ingredients”.

Groups move and delete with the same ↑ ↓ ✕ controls, and deleting a group deletes the ingredients in it.
