Preview shows the recipe as a finished page, built from what is on your screen right now — including changes you have not saved. It cannot save, publish or change anything.
Preview the whole page
- Press Preview recipe in the editor.
- Switch between Desktop, Tablet and Mobile to see the recipe at each width. Most people cook from a phone, so Mobile is the one worth checking.
- Close the preview to carry on editing.
Keep a preview open while you write
On a wide screen the action bar offers Full view and Split view. Split view puts the finished page in a column beside the editor and updates it as you type.
While split view is on, the Related content column is hidden — the preview is standing in its place. Switch to Full view to manage related recipes.
On a narrow window the toggle disappears and the editor uses the full width. Widen the window and your choice comes back.
What preview does and does not show
- Does: your unsaved text and photos, the finished layout, your accent colour, and the “More in …” related blocks as they will appear.
- Does not: save anything. Closing the preview and closing the tab are different things — press Save draft to keep your work.
- Related blocks in preview only list published recipes, which is what a reader would get.
Seeing the real page
Once a recipe is published, the editor shows a View live link to the actual page on your blog. That is the one to check if something looks wrong after publishing.
